I’m thinking of painting the interior of my house. What colors should I use?

Updated: Jun 8, 2022

Hi Shanon, I’m thinking of painting the interior of my house. What colors should I use?

When painting a new home, it’s important to choose colors that appeal not only to your preferred taste and style but ones that are also known to be in tune with your brain wavelengths. Studies have shown that when we see a certain color, it creates a specific reaction and effect on how we feel.

Have you ever noticed how the signs for many chain restaurants are red and yellow? These colors stimulate conversation, excitement, and oftentimes even hunger. Red and yellow tones are great colors for your kitchen or other areas where you might do entertaining. Like the color of the heart chakra, green is a great color for painting an area you just love as it promotes health and wellness. Blue tones are an excellent choice for areas like an office that requires steady concentration. Try lavender or light tones to help promote calm and relaxation in areas where you rest.

You can also play with contrasting colors to make colors pop! Start with one room at a time and above all, stick to color schemes that make sense to you. If the color wheel of panties is overwhelming, just remember we are lucky to live in a great community with local businesses who have professionals happy to assist you with your new Spring project.
